Travel Diaries with Amelia Noorani & Sara D'Ambrosio

As the season cools and we daydream of our next summer destination, we sit down with photographer, Sara D’Ambrosio and model, Amelia Noorani as they share with us their recent European travels.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

SARA: I’m Sara D’Ambrosio and I’m a fashion and travel photographer. I am a water baby at heart, a true Cancerian, and have recently moved to Byron Bay to
be closer to the ocean. I shoot both on film and digitally, but it’s film photography that I adore most. My sun-drenched and often raw style of imagery
is a reflection of my love for fashion, travel and portraiture.

AMELIA: My name is Amelia, I’m an Afghani model based in Melbourne. I have just finished my Arts degree which I hope will lead me into journalism one day. My favourite thing about modelling is getting to travel and shoot in the most beautiful locations around the
world.

Where have you been on your recent travels?

SARA: Amelia and I recently jet-setted off to my motherland, Italy, first stopping off in the fashion capital Milano and then heading down south to the most gorgeous island of Ischia - just off the Amalfi Coast. My next stop will
be Mallorca for my honeymoon.

AMELIA: It has been such a jam-packed trip. I’ve been to Berlin, Milan, Ischia, London, Copenhagen and all around Spain. But my heart will forever be in Italy.

What were the highlights of your time in Ischia?

SARA: The quiet and idyllic island of Ischia is the perfect spot for an Italian summer vacation if you love gorgeous swimming holes, fresh seafood, Aperol spritz, gelato and thermal hot springs. And who doesn’t? A highlight for me would have to be eating a bowl of spaghetti vongole in the town of Forio after a
shoot. I’m still thinking about that pasta.

Hitting the town on a night out, where are you heading to in Berlin?

AMELIA: Berghain, always. It has the most incredible music – I’ve never heard anything like it anywhere else. The atmosphere is electric.

Where’s your favourite spot for a long lunch in London?

AMELIA: Jacuzzi in West London for amazing ravioli and even better cocktails. The fit-out is gorgeous as well, so vibrant and welcoming.

A visit to Villa Necchi Campiglio is also a must. It is a historic architectural gen designed by Italian architect Piero Portaluppi"

What are your must-dos in Milan?

SARA: You absolutely must have a cocktail or two at Terazza Duomo 21 bar which overlooks the incredible Duomo Cathedral and piazza. Make sure to go at sunset time – golden hour is stunning.

A visit to Villa Necchi Campiglio is also a must. It is a historic architectural gem designed by Italian architect Piero Portaluppi. It was once a private residence and now open to the public. The entire property feels like a scene from a Slim Aarons photograph.

What outfits did you have on rotation this Euro summer?

AMELIA: I loved how lightweight and effortlessly chic the Chain Link Twill Set was under the European sun. It was my go-to in transit and perfect for looking elegant in and out of the airport. The Devotion Mini Dress was perfect for a girls’ lunch or a glass of champagne in Milan. And the upcoming Brydie
Mini Dress (dropping in July) was my go-to for a versatile day-to-night look. I paired it back with some cute ballet flats for exploring the city, then switched to a pair of classic heels for dinner.
